Joseph Patrick Kennedy

John Francis Fitzgerald, universally known as Honey Fitz, was a congressman and twice Mayor of Boston, and the maternal grandfather of President John F. Kennedy. Born in the North End of Boston in 1863 to Irish immigrant parents, he rose through the city's Democratic organisation, served in the Massachusetts Senate and the United States House of Representatives, and was elected mayor in 1905 and again in 1910. A famously gregarious campaigner and singer of "Sweet Adeline", he was the rival and eventual in-law of P. J. Kennedy. His daughter Rose married Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. in 1914. He lived to see his grandson elected to Congress in 1946.

Joe Kennedy III is an American politician and diplomat who represented Massachusetts in the United States House of Representatives from 2013 to 2021. Born in Boston in 1980, the son of the congressman Joseph P. Kennedy II and a grandson of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, he graduated from Stanford and Harvard Law School and served in the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic before working as an assistant district attorney in Massachusetts. In Congress he focused on health care, mental health parity and manufacturing, and he delivered the Democratic response to the State of the Union address in 2018. He ran for the Senate in 2020 and was later appointed United States Special Envoy to Northern Ireland for Economic Affairs.

Katherine Schwarzenegger is an American author, the eldest child of the journalist Maria Shriver and the actor and former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and a great-granddaughter of Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. and Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy. Born in Los Angeles in 1989, she graduated from the University of Southern California and published her first book, "Rock What You've Got", on body image while still a student. She has since written "I Just Graduated, Now What?" and "The Gift of Forgiveness", a collection of interviews about forgiveness, as well as children's books, and she is a longtime advocate for animal rescue and adoption. She married the actor Chris Pratt in 2019.

Jack Schlossberg is an American writer and political commentator, the youngest child of Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg and the only grandson of President John F. Kennedy. Born in New York in 1993, he graduated from Yale and later took law and business degrees at Harvard. He has introduced the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award at the Kennedy Library, written for Time and Vogue on politics and public service, and built a large following for the political commentary videos he posts on social media. He campaigned publicly in the 2024 election cycle and in 2025 announced a run for Congress in New York. He is the brother of Rose and Tatiana Schlossberg.

Patrick Schwarzenegger is an American actor and model, the son of the journalist Maria Shriver and the actor and former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and a great-grandson of Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. and Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy. Born in Los Angeles in 1993, he studied business at the University of Southern California while beginning a modelling career, and has appeared in films including "Midnight Sun", "Daniel Isn't Real" and "The Staircase" on television. He drew wide attention in 2025 for his role in the third season of the HBO series "The White Lotus". He is the brother of the author Katherine Schwarzenegger and a nephew of Timothy, Mark, Anthony and Bobby Shriver.

Mary Josephine Hannon Fitzgerald was the wife of the Boston mayor John F. Fitzgerald and the mother of Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy. Born in Acton, Massachusetts, in 1865, she married her cousin John Fitzgerald in 1889 and raised six children in Boston's North End and later in Dorchester and Concord. Reserved by temperament, she stayed away from the public campaigning that made her husband famous and concentrated on the household, while her eldest daughter Rose often acted as her father's hostess. She was the grandmother of President John F. Kennedy and of Senators Robert F. Kennedy and Edward M. Kennedy, and lived to the age of ninety-eight.

Rose Schlossberg is an American writer and performer, the eldest child of Caroline Kennedy and the designer Edwin Schlossberg and the first grandchild of President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Born in New York in 1988 and named for her great-grandmother Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, she studied at Harvard and took a master's degree in interactive telecommunications at New York University. She co-created and starred in the satirical web series "End Times Girls Club", which used comedy to address anxiety about the future, and has worked in video and performance art in New York. She is the sister of the journalist Tatiana Schlossberg and the writer Jack Schlossberg.

Tatiana Schlossberg is an American journalist and author who writes about climate change and the environment. Born in New York in 1990, the second child of Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg and a granddaughter of President John F. Kennedy, she studied history at Yale and took a master's degree at the University of Oxford. She reported on science and climate for The New York Times and has written for The Atlantic, The Washington Post and other publications. Her book "Inconspicuous Consumption: The Environmental Impact You Don't Know You Have" examines the hidden carbon and water costs of everyday goods, from streaming video to denim. She is the sister of Rose Schlossberg and Jack Schlossberg.

Conor Kennedy is an American writer and a son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and a great-grandson of Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. and Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy. Born in 1994, he was educated at Deerfield Academy and Harvard University and worked on environmental and food projects, including a period farming in California. In 2022 he volunteered with the international legion supporting Ukraine following the Russian invasion and later wrote publicly about the experience. He is a nephew of the documentary filmmaker Rory Kennedy and the human rights advocate Kerry Kennedy, and a cousin of the congressman Joseph P. Kennedy III.

Sargent Shriver was an American statesman who became the first director of the Peace Corps and the architect of much of the War on Poverty. Born in Westminster, Maryland, in 1915 and educated at Yale and Yale Law School, he served in the Navy in the Pacific before joining the Kennedy family businesses and marrying Eunice Kennedy in 1953. Appointed by his brother-in-law President John F. Kennedy to launch the Peace Corps in 1961, he went on under President Lyndon Johnson to run the Office of Economic Opportunity, creating Head Start, VISTA, Job Corps and Legal Services. He served as United States Ambassador to France from 1968 to 1970 and was the Democratic nominee for vice president in 1972. He was the father of Maria Shriver and of Timothy, Mark, Anthony and Bobby Shriver.

Peter Lawford was an English-born American actor and a member of the Rat Pack. Born in London in 1923 to a British Army general and raised largely in Europe, he signed with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer as a teenager and became a familiar leading man in films including "Good News", "Little Women", "Royal Wedding" and "Ocean's 11", later working steadily in television. He married Patricia Kennedy in 1954, making him the brother-in-law of President John F. Kennedy, and served as an informal link between Hollywood and the Kennedy White House. The couple had four children, including the actor and author Christopher Kennedy Lawford, before divorcing in 1966. He continued to act until the early 1980s and died in California in 1984.
